My Gimbles were a gift from my sister in Bedford. I have Multiple Sclerosis which impairs my ability to hold a book, the alternative was audio books but I love the act of reading myself so audios weren't for me Now I can hold a book in my one reasonably able hand and even turn the page without the frustration of constantly losing my place. Mike, In reply to your question as to where I heard of the gimble? It was from my mother. She read of it in the Yours magazine and asked me to order it from your web site. I thought it was such a good idea, as reading a lot of paper back, I get very frustrated by them not staying open. I decided to order a set for myself as well. Hiya. you asked if I would email you when I received my Gimble and let you know what I thought of them. I haven't actually tried them yet but from what I can see they are well made and simple to use. I can see that they would do exactly what it says on the tin - to borrow a well known expression - without interfering with the actual reading of the book. I am impressed and will be ordering another one through the post, using the voucher, as a present for a friend. Thank you. Mike wanted to let you know that my wife is delighted with the Gimble. Shes been using it on paperbacks for a while now and its made a tremendous difference. I generally put the book in the Gimble as she does find it difficult to put on herself, due to the condition of her hands but once its on she can comfortably read and enjoy her books. Additionally, she uses, and would recommend, the tip she read about leaving a few of the next pages out of the Gimble theyre easy to tuck in and it saves having to manipulate each page out of the right-hand side. Dear Mike Drage, Thanks for sending the 'Gimbles' which arrived the day after the e-mail. My wife is finding them 'just the thing - makes reading in bed a lot easier since she does not need both hands on the book. One suggestion though, would it be possible make the indication of 'left' and 'right' moulded into the arms a little more visible, we have only just found them, after using the 'Gimbles, for over a week! Thank you for sending me the Gimbles! I ahve Osteoarthritis in many joints and have found both sizes of the Gimble very helpful when reading paperback books. Not having to hold the books open whilst reading reduces the pain in my wrists and thumbs and therefor increases the pleasure and enjoyment of reading. Where ever I am with a book my Gimble is with me as well. I am putting pen to paper as I feel there are so many people who could find the Gimble invaluable.
